LXHTR metal flange guards are designed to provide a strong physical barrier around flange connections in high-temperature, high-pressure or harsh industrial environments.
Compared with fabric or plastic flange guards, metal flange guards offer better mechanical strength, heat resistance and impact protection. They are commonly used on pipelines carrying steam, hot oil, thermal fluids, water, gas or other non-highly-corrosive media where flange leakage may cause personnel injury, equipment damage or safety risks.
For corrosive acid and alkali applications, PTFE, PVC or PP flange guards are usually more suitable. Metal flange guards are mainly recommended for high-temperature, high-pressure, outdoor, fire-risk or mechanical-impact environments.
LXHTR metal flange guards are manufactured from galvanized carbon steel, 304 stainless steel or 316L stainless steel, with optional 1mm or 2mm plate thickness depending on the working environment and protection requirements.
The guard is installed around the flange connection to help contain and redirect sudden leakage, spray or splashing caused by gasket failure, flange loosening or pressure fluctuation. Its rigid metal structure provides excellent resistance to heat, impact and mechanical damage, making it suitable for demanding industrial piping systems where soft flange guards may not provide enough protection.

1. Is a metal flange guard suitable for acid and alkali pipelines?
Metal flange guards are not the first choice for strong acid or alkali applications. For corrosive chemical media, PTFE, PVC or PP flange guards are usually more suitable. Metal flange guards are mainly recommended for high-temperature, high-pressure, mechanical-impact or fire-risk environments.
2. What is the difference between galvanized carbon steel, 304 stainless steel and 316L stainless steel?
Galvanized carbon steel is a cost-effective option for general industrial use. 304 stainless steel provides better corrosion and weather resistance. 316L stainless steel offers higher corrosion resistance and is recommended for more demanding industrial environments.
3. Can the metal flange guard withstand high-pressure leakage?
The 316L stainless steel version can be designed with impact pressure resistance up to 10 MPa. However, the final performance depends on flange size, guard structure, material thickness and installation conditions.
4. Can a drain valve be added?
Yes. A drain outlet or drain valve can be added to guide leaked liquid to a safer direction or collection point, depending on the site requirements.
