FAQ

What is the difference between a high silica welding blanket and a fiberglass welding blanket?

High silica welding blankets provide significantly higher temperature resistance (up to 1000°C continuous) and better molten metal splash protection than standard fiberglass welding blankets.

Can the blanket withstand molten metal splash?

Yes. This welding blanket offers excellent resistance to welding slag and molten metal splash, making it suitable for foundries and steel plants.

Is silicone coating recommended for high-temperature applications?

Silicone coating improves abrasion and water resistance, but the coating itself is typically limited to approximately 260°C. For direct exposure to extreme temperatures, uncoated or vermiculite-coated high silica blankets are generally recommended.

Can custom sizes be manufactured?

Yes. Custom dimensions, edge treatments, grommets and coatings are available.

Which coating is best for welding applications?

Vermiculite coating is generally preferred for high-temperature welding and molten splash protection, while silicone coating is more suitable when additional abrasion and moisture resistance are required.
